Planes, Trikes, and Boats

Over the course of our trip to the Philippines we used several different means of transportation, one in particular that was very foreign to us - trikes. Here is a taste of what we experienced!

Our arrival in Caticlan brought us to the smallest airport either of us ever remember seeing. We thought Fort Wayne's Airport was small! This one has just one gate and waiting room for all outgoing flights, as well as only one tiny baggage claim, and one runway. We were even told that they close down the nearby road when a plane is landing.

Half of the airport

other half of the airport

there were no more than 15 people on our flight when we left. They even moved our seats to the back of the plane so that the weight was distributed correctly.

Trikes are the most popular, easiest, and cheapest mode of transportation in Boracay. The video below will show you more than my words could explain.

this little girl rode with us...she was pretending to drive the whole time.

To get from Caticlan to Boracay you have to take a boat. This style of boat is pretty much the main form of boat transportation that we saw.

This was our view of Boracay as we flew out. What a beautiful place!
